We were at Ion Orchard last Saturday and boy I cant help but got so attracted to this Shu Uemura advert at one of those confusing basement level. I’m always intrigued at the sight of “daring” girls who donned these.

Wait a sec, I am not talking about those bust enhancing ones >.< I’m referring to fake eyeslashes. I used to think that wearing fake lashes are only for drag queen. But. No. Its no longer. Most girls walking on the street of Orchard Road are wearing them! Its the IN-thing. Even celebrities wear them. I’hv never seen Oprah without her falsies. :P

Since this rave of having such outrageous look lashes (check out lady Ga-ga’s) is the in-look

Here’s a step-by-step on how to put on your falsies. WE all need to know this!

• Start with clean eye lids. The adhesive (glue) will not stick to oil so be sure to use an oil-free eye makeup remover. Be sure not to use any oil-based makeup near your eyes.
• Most false eyelashes will need to be trimmed, as the lashes are too long for most women. Be sure to trim just a little at a time. Then test run them by holding them on your eyelid and seeing how well they fit across your lid. Be sure to curve them across your lid. Take off one or two lashes at a time to get just the right fit. Be sure they don’t extend past your eyelid as this will be very uncomfortable.
• Add adhesive to the false eyelashes. Celebrity makeup artist recommends applying them with a dark lash glue. The dark glue helps define the lash line. Don’t use too much. Putting some on paper and using a toothpick can help. Let the adhesive become tacky, (about 1min), before applying the false eyelashes to your own eyelash line.
• Start applying your false eyelashes at the outside corner, press and hold the false eyelashes as close to your own lash line as possible If you feel your fingers are too big for this step you can use tweezers.
• After apply the false eyelashes and letting them dry, take an eyelash curler and gently curl your new false eyelashes along with you own lashes
• To unify the look of your new lashes apply liquid eyeliner over both. Optional for mascara.

When To Wear False Eyelashes
These days, pretty much anything goes! Depending on your job, you might not want to wear false lashes everyday. However, you might choose to wear them at night. False lashes are perfect for a special event, a concert, a party, a night out, a dinner date…you name it! as this will keep your eyes from developing an infection or an irritation from the adhesive. Remember, practice makes perfect. Learning how to apply false eyelashes and correctly applying them can lift your spirits and make you feel like a celebrity!

On a much more simpler note: they'll light up your look :)
